Prisoned by the walls of this enormous globe,
Limiting yourself, but yet keeping hope,
Watching the birds maneuvering in the sky,
Envying the creature, wish you could fly.

Fishing new meaning to life each day,
In a fishless pond, like bait less hook you sway,
Learning something new, searching for something profound,
Life is a maze; you’re just lost and found.

You strive for acceptance, you push yourself hard,
You cry for approval, you cry for applaud,
You reach the peak; you’re everyone’s star,
They treat you like God, because you have the power.

Then starts the downfall, here comes the plight,
Layers are lifted, only true friends in sight.
Time has turned and showed you the finger,
The woman you married now sleeps with your neighbor.

You loose everything, your friends turn foe,
For a loaf of bread, their gardens you mow.
Silently bearing all their atrocities,
You vow to yourself, you’ll repay their generosities.

Marooned at the square, you the feel the pain,
The vows you had taken, you can never attain.
You strip yourself naked to get little attention,
Ignorance of the world adds to your desperation.

You stand at the terrace next to the spiked square,
You bid an adieu, you wonder if they care,
You make the leap; you hear the final bell,
You’re stuck on the spike, caught between heaven and hell.
